Ruth lives in the village with her husband and two teenage daughters. Having grown up mainly in Bishop’s Stortford, she has lived in Stansted since 1987 and has been Parish Clerk since 1992.
Trevor spent thirty four years working as a teacher before he decided he needed a fresh challenge and took early retirement. He has lived in Stansted for seven years. He is often to be seen exercising his west highland terrier around Bentfield Green.
Anne joined the Council back in 1986. Despite not living in Stansted, Anne has a wide knowledge of village affairs and local characters! At the week-end she can often be found supporting her son who does an Elton John tribute act.
Steve has been the village handyman since 1998. He is multi-skilled and does a wide range of jobs from preparing plots in the cemetery to mending staplers in the office and almost anything in between.
Gerard is possibly the most recognisable resident in Stansted and one of the great characters of the village. He has been doing a very conscientious job as the village litter picker for over ten years. He has a variety of interests including running the rescue boat at a sailing club.
