Maureen is married with two adult children. She is an independent Children’s Social Care Consultant, previously working as a senior manager at Essex CC. Maureen has been Chairman since May 2014. Her priorities are supporting only sustainable development within Stansted, local business, accessible playgrounds, new skate-park, Stansted’s open spaces. Championing Mountfitchet Estate/Stoney Common and the Christmas Fayre are her passions.

Geoffrey has lived in Stansted for most of his life and has been a member of the Parish Council since 1995. He also represented Stansted on Uttlesford District Council between 1998-2011. Geoffrey served as Chairman for eight years before stepping down in May 2014 and taking up the vice chairman’s responsibilities.

Peter has lived in the village since 1973. He has been on the Council since 1976 and has twice been chairman (1981-84 & 1991-96). He has been Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee for many years. His main purpose in being a member is to sustain the village as a separate, viable and caring community.

Sam moved to Stansted in October 1984 when she was 5 years old. She went to primary school in the village and has subsequently also enjoyed full and part time employment in the village. She now lives in The Mews on High Lane and helps run the residents association there.

Fran has lived in Stansted for nearly 40 years and has been involved in the health service for over 40 years. This is her second term on the Parish Council and each time she has had a 2-year old to help her with her Council duties! Her focus has very much been on how best to serve children and families in this community. Main interests are Open Spaces, Civil Protection and Windmill.

John came to Stansted in 1987. He has been active in the community as member of the PTA at Forest Hall School and involved with St Theresa’s Parish Church. He was co-opted to the Council in January 2014.

As well as being a Parish Councillor John is also a District Councillor for Stansted North and sits on the Planning, Highways and Licensing Committees. He lives in the Bentfield Green area and has been on the Parish Council for over twenty five years. He is a long term supporter of the Scout movement.

Catherine has been a parish councillor for many years, during which she has been chair of the Open Spaces committee and chair of the Council. Whilst interested in all aspects of the parish, she is particularly concerned that Stansted should be a pleasant place in which to live, free of litter and dog mess, clean and tidy, with attractive open spaces and built areas. She is married to Alan, a district councillor, and has three grown-up children and six grandchildren.

John has served on Stansted Parish Council since 1995 on a variety of parish committees and was also a District Councillor 2008 – 2011 on the former housing and licensing committees. He formerly worked in telecoms with Nortel Networks in Harlow and still works part time as a technical consultant.

Daphne has been a Stansted resident for over forty years. Prior to retirement she worked as a Financial Consultant in the public sector. She is Secretary of The Birchanger Wood Trust and is passionate about maintaining public access to the countryside which she believes makes a valuable contribution to a healthy life style.

Rachel is married with two children and now lives in Forest Hall Park although she has lived in and around the village all her life. She agreed to become a councillor because she wants to ensure Stansted maintain its village qualities and remains an attractive environment for the next generations.

Matthew has lived in Stansted for 18 years, is married with two children. He has run his own IT consulting business for the last 16 years. He is a governor at St Mary’s Primary School a, a member of the Parochial Church Council at St. John’s and First Responder. He believes that Stansted has an extremely strong community spirit and, is keen to ensure that this spirit is not only maintained, but nurtured and built upon.

Jo was born and raised in east London and moved to Stansted in 1997. She has worked for the past eight years for a local property developer. She is a golf widow but has plenty of her own hobbies including reading and genealogy. Two of the areas she wants to focus on as a new councillor are parking and light pollution which she feels are viewed as a significant problem by residents.

Mark was born in London and settled in Stansted in 2008 to raise a family. Married with one son who currently goes to Bentfield School. Mark works in Stansted as an LSA at Bentfield School and cares deeply that Stansted maintains its village qualities and to also focus on pushing for much improved parking facilities to combat the growing problems currently experienced throughout the village.

Richards-Juliet lives on Forest Hall Park with her young daughter so has a vested interest in the local play areas and schools. She grew up in the village and has recently become a member of the Social Club. This is her first term on the council.
